Chambersburg, PA Daffodil Show

 

The Chambersburg Daffodil show was held yesterday and today.  The judging was on Saturday morning.  Kate and Mitch Carney pulled off a great show.  Here are some of the winners and some of the pictures:

 

 

Gold Ribbon was Astrid’s Memory 3W-Y, exhibited by Kate and Mitch Carney.

The Silver Ribbon was also won my a landslide by Kate and Mitch Carney.  Not sure of the total.

The White Ribbon was Whitford Joy 9W-GYR, exhibited by Kate and Mitch Carney

The Quinn Award was exhibited by Kate and Mitch Carney. Sorry no picture.

The Bozievich Award was exhibited by Clay and Fran Higgins.

The Throckmorton Award was exhibited by Curtis Aumiller.

The Havens Award was exhibited by Kate and Mitch Carney

The Bankhead Award of nine miniatures was exhibited by Kate and Mitch Carney

The Watrous Award of twelve miniatures was exhibited by Kate and Mitch Carney

The Lavender Ribbon of five miniatures was exhibited by Clay and Fran Higgins.  This exhibit also was awarded the Miniature Red White and Blue of 5 miniatures of American origin which was all seedling/ cultivars hybridized by Clay and Fran Higgins.  In that collection on the back right was the miniature Rose Ribbon, seedling 22-31 7Y-YYO Maria X minicycla.

Best Intermediate Bloom was Scarlet Tanager 2Y-R Exhibited by Curtis Aumiller.

 

Purple Ribbon which was also the best collection of Five Divison 3 daffodils was exhibited by Kate and Mitch Carney

The best collection of 5 stems of Classic daffodils was exhibited by Kate and Mitch Carney.  The best classic, Corofin #W-YYR, came from this collection of 5. Unfortunately by pictures did not turn out for this excellent collection.

The Red, white Blue award of 5 daffodils of American Origin was exhibited by Kate and Mitch Carney.

Best Historic was Avalanche 8W-Y exhibited by Maryann Hogge;

 

Best Youth daffodil was Sir Winston Churchill 4W-O Exhibited by Myssa Scruggs.

 

Rose Ribbon was Seedling OS-10F Green Lodge x unknown exhibited by Kate and Mitch Carney.

 

Best Small Grower was Sir Winston Churchill exhibited by Mitchel S. Wood.

 

The most frustrating daffodil was an eight petal Reckless 3W-GYR in my Quinn candidate that the Judges noticed, but I missed as it was a last minute replacement.
