Sara: I think it is Foresight, a pre 1944 introduction by Wilson in England. I have grown it here and I have pictures in my master iPhoto file which seem very very similar. However the shots I ‘borrowed’ from Daffseek show a very orange shaded corona but I discount them. The RHS verbal description in their big Register and Classified List (1987) tracks what I grow.

Sara,
What colour is the tube – the conical bit between the back of the petals and the ovary? If deep yellow, the same as the trumpet then it might be the species N. nobilis – or certainly a very close relative. It looks pretty typical to my eye. I’ll try to post a picture separately. has there been any Spanish settlement in the area from which it came?
