Hi Daffnetters ,
Firstly , thanks for all the info on the forgotten division , — multiheaded doubles.
It does appear that double x jonquilla — will give some nice , fragrant doubles , but usually only one
or two blooms per stem.
Double x tazetta — is a little less certain , no results to hand .
Will try it that way or reverse , — ask me again in 5 years time .
Dave A — not sure how Erlicheer does in your area — perhaps a little frosty , but some of the best
Sol d,ors , early into Wgtn come from Akaroa , it,s a micro climate I guess, with less frosts.
Also you have the sdlg number of the early O,More cyclamineus. Thanks for your help.
Apollo Gold — 2y – y bred by Colin Crotty — Pleasant Valley Daffodils — N Z
A week ago was the anniversary of the Moon landing — can it really be forty years.
The Apollo flight, landing and return is one of the events of the century .
Apollo Gold is flowering now , a div 2 but looks like a trumpet..
I,ve seen many Malvern City seedlings and this is up with the best.Strong , tall stems , good neck
and stance, opens well and very flat , broad strapping leaves an inch wide explain the great vigour.
It,s third year for me now Colin and has at last acclimatised , planted next to Malv. C and flowering at
the same time but a far better plant. — Impressive …
