Narcissus x perezlarae occurs as the natural wild hybrid between N. cavanillesii and N. miniatus. Several years ago Theo Sanders sent me a large shipment of bulbs of hybrids between the autumn species. They did not come up the first year but have now settled down and are flowering quite well. I am not sure if this batch is from a wild collected cultivar or if Theo made it but it is really putting on a show this year.

I have remade this hybrid using “improved” forms of the species. And show two that are currently in flower now. Unfortunately some of them seem to fade.
These should not be fertile which is a pity as I like their rapid clumping habit.

Congratulations to your N. x perezlarae. I was not successful to flower them in pots in the greenhouse. All species hybrids I send you were collected from the wild. I never found a fertile N. x perezlarae.

Nice to see this hybrid flowering ‘free’ in the garden. I managed to have flowers but not in such profusion. Also there are some differences between the provenances which I cultivate. Best flowering types are those from Sancti Petri, from Morón de la Frontera and from Coripe.
