The White Ribbon is for the best set of three standard daffodils. The Mitsch Award is for a set of three seedlings exhibited by their originator. The same exhibit received both of these awards. It is John Reed’s seedling 97-163-1 1W-Y. Those of you who were at the show may remember the entry tag saying it was seedling 97-126-1. During the tour yesterday to Oakwood Daffodils, I went with John Reed to look at the planting from which these blooms came. The label at the planting said 97-163-1, so the label at the show was simply a slip of the memory. Those of you who took notes at the show should correct the seedling number you wrote down.
