Virginia Daffodil Society Show

Dear Friends…

Just a quick note to let you know that we are in the midst of a beautiful weekend here in Virginia and our show was blessed with over 1,500 entries.  Results will follow in a later communication, but for those of you who know Clay Higgins, he is now affectionately called ‘Ole Blue’!  He and Fran took home the award for the most Blue Ribbons and also the Hotchkiss Cup for the best seedling.  The Higgins are dedicated people to whom we all owe a large round of appreciative applause for their participation and untiring assistance wherever they show their beautiful daffodils.

One last item, if I may…Bill Pannill, we truly missed you!  Your wonderful niece, Janie Vaughan and her husband were there from Lynchburg and they represented the family in an outstanding manner, for which you would have been justifiably proud!

I almost forgot to say that our Honorary Show Chair, George Bragdon, was able to come to the awards presentation at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden on Saturday afternoon and he was warmly greeted by his many friends!

Thanks to all daffnetter who participated!  Please come back every year!

Regards,

Ross
