Rongotea

The  growers  from  the  Central  Daffodil  Group  made  a  special effort  to  support  the  Centenial  Show ;
Twice  as  many  blooms  as  last  season ;  this increase  was  also  reflectedin  all  other  show  classes , floral  art ,
home  produce ,  vegetables  cooking  and  childrens  classes.
It  was  a  very  full  hall  and  the  public  attendance  was  also  very  good ;  everybody  came  to  the  party .

A  special  CentenialClass  for  daffs  was  —

7  Daffodils  , exhibitors  choice , from  divs  1  —  4  ,1 vase
To  be  judged  50 % presentation ;  —  50  quality .

These type of  classes  are  becoming more  popular  at  our  local  shows ;  when  well  done they  can make
quite an  impact  ;  sevens are not easy  and  cannot  be  rushed .

Brian  Mackenzie  is  a  very  good  stager ; he  only  has  a  small  home  daff  plot  but  willingly helps  many
others  at  the  shows and  always  does  it  well .

He  found  enough  blooms  to do  his  own  seven  and  left  the  three  others  well  behind .
Good  colour  balance , not  crowded or  gappy  ;  a  vey  attractive  vase …

My  second  placed  entry  tried  to  steal it  with  colour  but  the  judge  got  it  correct .

A  good  show for  Brian  —  Seventh  heaven .

  2. I’m really curious about the staging in the second photo in this post.  Could someone there catch an end view of these clever stands?  From what I can see there is no table at all, but an A frame sort of thing with cross braces and shelves laid on for the flower containers.  This design looks like it would be easy to assemble in any location and could be put together to fit any space.  I like that.
