The server is up now. I replaced the main chassis fan but the chassis exhaust fan was also stopped. A trip to Central Computers resulted in a fan too big but installed anyway. I will probably make another trip to San Francisco if I have the correct fan in a week or two.
The correct fan is needed to for correct physical anchoring to the cabinet. If a fan is not sized correctly it might dance around and cause trouble.
All in all, a successful trip.
The last of our Kiwi visitors, Michael and Marian Brown stayed last night and we saw them off to the airport this afternoon. They are now 2 hours into their 14 hour trip back home to New Zealand.
Nancy and I get so much pleasure hosting our Australian, English, Kiwi, and Northern Ireland visitors. We hope to have some special people from Germany, Italy or the Netherlands someday and, of course, we are always happy to see our USA visitors.
Nancy and I hope to visit Europe soon and see some members of the DaffSeek Team.
Thanks,
Ben Blake

  1. Ben and Nancy,

Thanks so much for all you two do to keep Daffnet, Daffseek, and the website going, Ben and Nancy!

Also a HUGE THANK YOU to Nancy Tackett and Bob Spotts and the entire Northern CA group for such a wonderful convention!  It was definitely one to remember.  I’ve been home since Sunday with too many emails to catch up on, but I will post some photos yet!  For those of you not attending conventions, you’re missing some great opportunities to see incredible daffodils and to get to know a wonderful group of people!  Start planning now to join us at the convention next spring in Jackson, MS, on March 10-13!

Local daffodil shows are also a great time to see a great variety of daffodils and to make new daffodil friends.  Everyone is invited to Nashville this weekend for the Middle Tennessee Daffodil Society’s show! Entries are Saturday morning followed by judging. The show opens to the public after judging or around 1:30 on Saturday. View the show Saturday 1:30 – 4:30, Sunday 11:30 – 3:30. Saturday is also Cheekwood’s native plant sale and Saturday and Sunday are FREE ADMISSION days at Cheekwood!  Contact me if you have any questions.  Flowers are blooming here and I’m busy picking for the show before and after work.  I’ll post some photos after the weekend!
