  1. I wanted card stock, but the printer didn’t have any big enough. So it was the stiffest paper he had, 12 x 18, and it has a bit of a glossy finish. I had the printer use as much width as possible, and then cut off the bottom which wouldn’t fit on the page (the filler photos). He had to do a couple over because he cut off too much. The small one with the three sizes of flowers was printed on 8-1/2 x 11 paper, again, on the stiff paper.
I had some fancy 8-1/2 x 11 paper with daffodils on it and I used that to print out a few basic facts. The second page talks about early flowers, and I’ll probably change that one as the season progresses.

  2. Well done Mary Lou,

Amazing what can be done with a dozen flowers and some well placed books and catalogues.

  3. I suppose Gilbert & Sullivan Music is also featured at the Buttercup festival.

  4. I’m behind in conversations here, but wanted to add in my kudos for Mary Lou’s library display. The live daffodils certainly take the display to another level!
Here in Brentwood, after the fun of our MTDS show last weekend, I’d spent early mornings and evenings before and after work this last week preparing for a garden tour yesterday for Master Gardeners, daffodil people, and David’s HAM radio group–they had the most attendees! Everyone, including David the car hop and tea and cookie server, and me the tour guide, had a lot of fun! After that, we had friends over for an afternoon look at the daffs and early wildflowers (trillium and may apples in full beauty; tall phlox, jacob’s ladder, Virginia bluebells and many other wildflowers just starting to bloom) followed by dinner.
I’ll have a booth next Saturday at the BUTTERCUP Festival in Nolensville (about 2 miles from my house). I’m planning an educational booth under an awning and will include a display of live daffs, what banners can fit in the space provided (as long as it’s not too windy), and will have the Pocket Guide and coloring pages as handouts. I and a few other local daffodil people will be there to talk about daffodils (buttercups) and to answer questions. It’s should be another fun day!
Soon I promise to get to photographs from our show, from convention, and some taken in the garden. My flowers are in peak bloom here now.
