This is a first flower — from the 5 year olds ..
Just measures ! W – O but may change as it is a young bloom and is borderline .
About 5 years back I had noticed in the R H S Registrations that Dr John Reed had
a few seedling from Johann Straussthat were either 1 or 2 div white -orange .
This was just before the magic of Daffseek ( thanks Nancy and team ) and the List was
one of the few means of finding out who was breeding with what etc .
Like many others , I was interested in getting colours — particularly orang or red — into
the trumpets and was intrigued by John Reeds registrations ..
Johan Strauss has been available in the N Z garden center trade for a few years and I though
– why not .
It,s no world beater , –I,m probably several generations of the pace , but will spread the pollen
around and hope the next generation is better still .
Still quite a few to flower from 4 or 5 crosses made with J S .
Qite a lot of rubbish but this is encouraging .
