Various daffodils

Hello Everyone, near the end of the season here.  Seedling G40 was offered at the NDS auction this year,  but the flowers were not out here.  Those who bought it at auction might be interested to see what they have bought.  The ornage corona is just under three quarters the length of the perianth.
The next photo is of Sweet Will which I registered this year.  (This photo could be harvested for daffseek, Nancy).  This flower was bred from Aircastle x Kiwi New Hope so has Green Island on both sides of its ancestry.  Like Aircastle it open 3w-y and changes to 3y-wwy over a few days, the lemon colour being stronger than Aircastle and changing sooner.  The only problem with it is that it is inclined to be too late here for the National shows.  Incidentally Aircastle is still going strong here and we have it naturalised as well as in the patch.  It has always been one of my favourites and still produces some great flowers.
The last photo shows Sweet Will along with a wee Intermediate sized double – sorry I forgot to bring its seedling number up from the patch, this flower is 67mm across.  It only has two flowers and 1 last year.  The other flower was about 72mm.  It is 30cm tall on sturdy stems.  Last year it flowered in time for the Brightwater Show, about 20th September, and this year it opened on 7th October, over 2 weeks later.  It is a dear wee thing, quite a full little double I have nicknamed it ‘Cupcake’.  There is quite a difference in the two yellows of the petaloides and the petals which adds to its novelty.

Regards to all, Denise.
