Sad case

Found in seedling beds to-day this reminded me of a picture posted a few days ago – this guy would need a lot of surgical attention or maybe antibiotic, to cure his condition – trouble is these white notches seem to be inherent. But some may think it nice?

  1. Ha!!!!!

Here’s the best cure I can recommend, Brian:  at the proper time dig the bulbs, then dry them, and in the fall, ship them to me (address below).  They’ll be well cared for on this side of the pond and your patch will be cured of the flecks.  Simple remedy!   My PayPal account could even act as your health insurance provider, reimbursing you for your shipping expenses!

Perhaps, yours and mine could create something even greater… yours clearly has the form and deeper color I need, and mine boasts the coronal length and even more of the flecking… imagine such a long red corona with so many white teeth!  Linda Wallpe has already come up with the name:  ‘Dracula’!

  2. And then send me the results in a few years for field testing in a zone 5-6 yard in Central Missouri – I’ll be happy to reimburse you the shipping/cost!

  4. Jason, I'm thinking 'Dracula' and its kin deserve their own division, division 32 :))
