Those of you who were at the Fall Board
Meeting in Atlanta heard the invitation
from Gary McClure to Little Rock, AR,
for the 2013 spring ADS Convention.
There was mention of an optional bus
trip to P. Allen Smith’s home retreat.
For anyone not familiar with P. Allen,
below is a link to his website. He is
an amazing gardener and has a syndicated
TV show and one that airs on public TV.
Check him out. He also loves daffodils
and has planted a ton of them at his
Home Garden Retreat, as he calls his
place in Arkansas. I won’t miss the
trip there in 2013!
He’s written several articles on his
website about daffodils and I see where
he’s done a show (#701) called Dazzling
Daffodils that highlights the “Thousands
of new bulbs [that] emerge in a
delightful show of cheery blooms on
Allen’s ‘Daffodil Hill.'”

I think that holding these meetings in different places is great. How about sometime going to a State seldom visited ? I’d still love to visit some of or all of Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and the Dakotas.

Darrin, as far as I know, the dates have
not been set in stone for either of
these conventions. Gary (Arkansas) is
looking at March 19-23, 2014 in Little
Rock, but Jill (Ohio) is still searching
for a hotel for 2013, so no dates or
city have been named yet for that one.

I believe there has been a change to the
dates for Arkansas and it might be a
little later than what I just posted.
Gary McClure will be making an official
announcement very soon and then we’ll
know for sure! Sorry for the confusion!
