18th Amity Oregon Daffodil Festival

The 18th annual Amity Daffodil Festival was held this past weekend. Bloom count was down this year to a record low of 672 stems. The Festival was held early this year and we are having a more normal to late sort of a season. We’ve had early seasons in five out of seven seasons. Due to the lack of flowers, there were no commercial exhibits at Amity which has never happened before.

We had yellow trumpets with sparse whites and only a pink or two. Few Div. 2’s except yellows. A pitifully few Div. 3’s. Mostly ‘Ice King’ for doubles. Few Div. 5’s, a TON of Div. 6’s, No Div 7’s to speak of and some Div. 8’s. Early Miniatures were well represented.
Below is the White Ribbon winner. ‘Rapture’ was grown and exhibited by Deb Holland of Newport, Oregon.
