I guess I should read the instructions.
I was breezing though some of the comment on the new daffnet and in Hybridizing I found post between myself and MLG from “way back when” at least in 2003.
Am I correct in thinking that all our posts from years gone by are now on the new daffnet pages.
In our planning for this forum, we wanted to keep all daffnet mailing-list messages going back as far as possible. We were able to retain most messages going back to 2003. We could import only messages that were owned by members of both the old mailing-list and the new forum. This importing process took us weeks of effort and many runs or passes. After each run, we added email addresses missed on the last one. We basically built the archives month by month. Some messages could not be processed due to errors but I think we can say that 90% of the messages from 2004 to date have come through.
Ben, If you should ever want it, I have 99.9% of daffnet back to 12/4/01 when I joined up!
Originally I really wanted to cover ten years. Maybe someday we can add those archives back to 2001. Thanks for keeping them Melissa!
