Miniature Green 11’s?

The first cross mates Hunter’s ‘Emerald Sea’ with ‘Lima’s Green Success’, taking parents from two of the most important N. viridiflorus pioneers. Cross was planted in 2009. This is the second seedling to flower. Only one flower to the stem and it measures miniature. Maybe when it grows older it will have more flowers to the stem. Unfortunately the corona is not as symmetrical as I would like. The split between two of the coronal lobes is incomplete. Corona is so small one needs a magnifying glass to notice the problem.

The second is from ‘Emerald Sea’ open pollinated and I discarded all the seedlings except for this one. The natural reflex makes it a miniature too. Although if the perianth is flattened it measures 52 mm. Of course if you flattened some of the miniature cyclamineus hybrids one would also get a nasty surprise. What I like about this one is the deeply goffered corona. Wish the perianth was broader. Maybe I should cross it with the little green I showed on December 10th?
