  1. Hi Steve……….So great to see all the tiny ones, and especially the bulbocodiums. Do you have them in pots in a greenhouse, or just in the ground, or what?  I have a plot outdoors that I got from Walter Blom, that has buds.  We covered it up when the temps went down to 23.  So far they don’t look frozen.  Also, the snow drops are just starting to bloom in a pot outdoors.  And Harold, hopefully you are reading this, too.  Your pictures of the “greens” of all sorts are just marvelous.  It is so exciting to see what is coming down the tube for us in the daffodil community.  Some of yours that you gave us 2 years ago in Springfield at the Fall meeting bloomed this Dec.  Len took pictures of them but we haven’t figured out how to send them.   But I did have the tags in the pots, so can tell sort of what they are.  You would know them.  Two different ones, both had 3 blossoms on a stem.  One all white and the other with a little green at the base.

  2. Hi Barbara,

The things blooming now that I have photographed are all in “cold” greenhouse #3 which is kept at 34 degrees F at night. The cold night temperatures and dry cool days have kepth things growing s-l-o-w-l-y outside. A few warm days will speed things up outside.
