Hi all,

I had waited for a period of time hoping to hear comments about the new article by Harold Koopowitz published in the December 2015, The Daffodil Journal of the ADS, titled “The Power of the Species.” But so far I have not heard anything. This is the second outstanding article on hybridizing and growing miniature daffodils that I’ve read and studied by Harold in the last two years. The first one was in the RHS journal in the fall of 2013. It is so rewarding reading Harold’s articles as I have been working with hybridizing and growing miniatures for over 15 years, and mostly getting no where. It is so great to have this type communication come from our more successful hybridizers. We are so lucky to have Harold writing this type articles as it passes along information I would be willing to pay for. It’s that good and anyone that knows me knows that I must have Scottish blood in my body as I an such a miser. Harold talks about all the work the Brian Duncan is doing in miniatures as well. I wish we could get Brian to write an article on his hybridizing. Considering what advances Brian has made in hybridizing Standard size daffodil, I can see the imagination and experience he brings to miniatures.

Thanks Harold. And, thanks to Gregg Freeman for getting it into the Journal. I hope to see additional articles like this in the future.

Probably no comments because we other lesser mortals won’t be able to read it until December 2015 comes round. Only joking! Perhaps you can amend the 2015 to 2014.

While I appreciate Clay’s comments and support, it is more important that there should have been some discussion on my editorial in the same issue.
