daffs that terrify?

I think number one on my list would be ‘Petit Four’.  Those “fangs” are the part that keep me awake at night.  Dick Frank, and ADS Past President, Bill Roese, and I, were once judging together in an ADS Natl Show and we were assigned single stem entries.  We came to a single entry and it was a good specimen of ‘Petit Four’.  ADS Past President, Dr Bender had just written an article for the Journal, titled something like “Single Stem Syndrome”, whereby we as judges, are prone to be much harsher on a single entry in a class.  We didn’t want to be guilty of SSS, so we mustered up our courage and gave the ‘Petit Four’ a blue ribbon.  I can recall the fangs were so long and prominent I could barely use the punch to reach the card, without being stabbed.  I think we had wine with lunch, shortly thereafter, and it was a good and necessary thing.  I used to lie awake at night, fearing that I would someday launch a boat without the plug in it.  I finally moved past that one.  But those ‘Petit Four’ fangs J…

    And you have no  fear of aligators, bears, sharks,  parana fish or nuclear submarines.  Try Jan Pennings ‘Extravaganza’ and you’ll really freak out!
