Fw: Unidentified 8W-Y seedling

Last  for  the  evening  ..
Saw  this  one  , about 5  florets  just  openned  and  still  a  young  bloom  .
It  just  oozed  quality  —  probably  the  best perianth  I  have  seen  on  a  tazetta  .
Wilf  agree  and  said  it  was  very  promising .
When  I  asked  the  breeding  , I  got  a cheesey  grin  and  a  sad  story .

We  have  all  done  this , haven,t  we  ..
Clearing  out  the  bulb section  of  the  shed  at  the  end  of  the  planting  season  (2008 )  ,
and  find  a  small  netlon bag  of bulbs  .
NO  LABEL  —  you  know  the  feeling  !  ! ! .Scratch  your  head  .
Was  it  an  Order  ..  Big  bulbs  ,  obviously  tazettas  —  confused  .

To  late  to  worry  and  so  Wilf  plants  the  3  big  bulbs  ..
Late  planting  and tazettas  don,t  like  being  moved ;  but  it  was very good  last  season
if only  on  short  stems  ..
This  season  3  stems of  a  realy  stunning ,  show  stopper  …
Well  done  Wilf  —  they  don,t  need  a  flash  pedigree  to  impress  the  judges  .

Cheers  John .

Subject: Unidentified 8W-Y seedling
Hi John,
As promised the photo of the nice 8W-Y before I savagely attacked it to spread some pollen. The closest match so far after looking again at AVX-80 is that seedling. Time might tell. As I said, not as well focused as I would have liked but I was desperate to get some pollen on to it before the temperature started to drop.
Cheers  Wilf
