Another double sdlg ; this is a little different as it,s from an attempt at orange flushed
perianth in a double ..
sdlg 06 – 42 Creag Durb — x — sdlg 4 Y – O bred Cinel – x – Fiji .
Quite a good flush in the perianth but it,s best asset is that most have a small pistil ,
tucked well inside the flower . It has given good pods of seeds the last two seasons
and they have germinated well .Pollen parent is a show quality flower that has been to the Nats ..
It is a nice round flower , the Creag Durb neck is a little long than desired but the stem
is firm enough to hold the very bright flowers .
Yes — the leaves look a mess — the bulbs had a solid 3 hours H W T at the top end
of the temp range and it is rather noticeable .
My long experience of H W T on the breding using these blooms is that the pollen is seldom
viable ; I ,ve long stopped using it if the treatment is solid , but if the pistil is good , they
usually take the pollen and set seed O K .
Hopefully a step to good flushed doubles — pistils just visible in two blooms .
