I apologise if details have been posted before, but I have just learned from John Blanchard of the death of Jim Archibald at the beginning of August. Although not a Daffodil exhibitor in the way that most of us on Daffnet are, Jim was legendary in the world of species narcissus and other genera. Anyone growing small daffodils will be aware of ‘Julia Jane’ which was one of the selections from bulbs that he collected which were given a clonal name.
