Max’s funeral

Hello All,

This message is for NZ members mostly.  Max’s funeral is on Monday, August 23 at 1.30pm, at the Seddon Park Funeral Home, Hamilton.  The family has requested that no flowers be sent for the funeral (there will, of course, be lots of daffodils).  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Heart Foundation, PO Box 19155, Hamilton, 3244.

Apologies for taking up space on Daffnet but thought I should correct the funeral date.

Peter

  1. Dear All,
Peter you need not apologies at all for posting the arrangements of Max's funeral on daffnet!
He was one of the worlds best breeder and hybridizer of daffodil, an icon!
His lose will be felt for years to come.
I only met him once at a Norther Group Meeting 20 odd years ago in Leeds UK where he told us all about dressing doubles for the show bench.
I'm not sure if I was the only one listening, but going by what I see in the show bench each year I was!
But he was a Star, I have never forgot what he told us about getting your fingers and thumb into doubles and dressing them, not pick and show, it was a Master Class.
The daffodil world is smaller now!
I for one was blessed to me him and learn from him,
I will remember him and will continue to hold him in high regard as ever.
