2022 ADS Midwest Show Schedule *UPDATE*

Hello All

The Central Ohio Daffodil Society (CODS) show has been cancelled due to the Franklin Park Conservatory not allowing any plant societies to gather in their usual rooms on the lower level. It seems that a perfect storm of many factors was involved in this decision, staffing issues, facility issues as well as the ongoing Covid 19 virus issues, even with the recent decline. I applaud their caution.

This has been a real effort over the past week or so. So many rumors, and the venue couldn’t be reached for confirmation and members questioning while others couldn’t be reached. Nancy Gill finally reached the right person at the conservatory after almost an hour of waiting and being transferred and put on hold etc. This was a multiple effort job and I REALLY appreciate her and Naomi who made the effort days before. Holy moly!!

Even with most of the upper midrange of the country experiencing another blast of arctic air, we have started noticing little green noses poking through in the most protected parts of our property and we are later than most in the Cincinnati area being so far northwest.

appreciate all of you.

Tom

  1. Find a new place to do it. How many more years will you let this ruin your passion? No conservatory administrator would stand in my way, that’s for sure.

  2. Agree totally.  Columbus is no longer a location I personally care to visit, and I’m only 27 miles away.

  3. We had this issue a decade ago in Minnesota  with an arboretum and one local public conservatory.  Luckily other plant societies had forged arrangements with a local nursery with space.  Reach out to other societies that may have use venues that would make a ready home for your show.  If not this year, possibly next and further out.  A reliable and inexpensive venue is critical to a successful show.
