double Thalia

Hi all

Here is a post from Susan Gammons. She did not say if this is recurring or the first time for this doubling

f

Thank you so much for your reply and the information. I am attaching a few pictures (downsized) to show the comparison.
I have had these daffodils for a couple of decades. They all came from one bulb, which I have kept marked and separated from my 20+ other daffodil types. The sport or mutation or hybrid arose from some Thalia bulbs. It shares the same fragrance, bloom time, coloring, and multiflowering traits. However, it has wider petals and the cup has modified stamens or something. It might be totally common for all I know.
Thank you for any feedback you can give me!
Susan

  1. This is a sport.   Knowledgeable plantspersons have spotted these and used these sports as new cultivars.  Yellow Cheerfulness, Golden Quince, Ice King Slim Whitman and several others were sports.  I hope tit grows well and you can get it into many other gardens,

  2. There is a sport from Tresamble called White Marvel which is similar to your bloom.   These sports are worth keeping.  :-)
