summer tazettas

This summer has been mild and wet in Canberra. The result is that tazettas started flowering in late January and quite a few are flowering a month later, which is still very early by usual standards.

19_67T is a standard tazetta with some of the color from N. elegans.

15_02T has stronger color but its form and stem are not as good.

19_101T is still a bit smaller than standard but it has a clear yellow perianth with an orange cup derived from N. elegans. It must be one of the most intensely colored flowers of this type.

19_112T is a fertile diploid that is arguably 8O-O. It’s a bit untidy but is worth using I think. The color comes from the Soleil D’Or I call ‘Bairns Sol’ and N. elegans.

It might be 14A which is technically yellow but is very believably 17C which is technically orange.

If my crosses take, then all of these should produce seed that can be planted this autumn.
